Artistic Endeavors

Claudia McElvaney's artwork consists of bright colors, playful forms with movement and whimsy. Recently she has focused on painting and ceramic sculpture and also has a commercial line of home furnishings made from jigsaw-cut plywood that she paints with acrylics. Most of her work is privately commissioned. She works in a variety of other media as well, including: welded metal, sheet metal, stained glass, fused glass, blown glass, digital artwork, photography, and carved wood. Her educational experience includes the completion of numerous art classes at various institutions, including Montgomery College, Corcoran School of Art, Penland School, and Torpedo Factory. Recent work includes a series of paintings of women, a group of abstract paintings, a mural and several decorative home installations.
